1920S GOOD SERVICE (for Sears Roebuck) ROSEWOOD OVERSIZE FOUNTAIN PEN RESTORED

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1920s Good Service (made by National/Barret for Sears Roebuck) Oversize Fountain Pen in theRosewood celluloid pattern This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is nowback in wonderful writing condition. NOTE:The Good Service Pen Co. was a Sears Roebuck brand, sold in their stores. I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. I have replaced the old rubber sac with a new sac. I have hand-polished the gold-filled clip, all the cap bandings, the lever arm, and 14K Gold Warranted #8 NIB. I also cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. This fountain pen cap and barrel are inmagnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. All the gold-filled trim displays no wear and has been polished to shine brightly. The barrel is clearly stamped with, “GOOD SERVICE PEN CO SR LOGO CHICAGO, ILL”. There are no monograms or personalizations either the cap or barrel. This Oversized Good Service Fountain Pen measures 5 1/2″ in length capped and 6 3/4″ posted. I have tested the lever-filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. This Good Service Fountain Pen has a Warranted 14K #8 NIB. The actual writing portion, (the iridium), of the 14K NIB has amedium point measuring roughly .75mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with afine to double broad stroke/line measuring from .52mm (with very light pressure) to 1.53mm when measured with digital calipers. The nib provides a smooth writing experience. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink. This is afabulousoversized Good Service Fountain Pen inRosewood/Mottled Celluloid. These 2nd and 3rd Tier Pen Company provided us with some great colors that collectors seek out today. I would grade this Good Service Fountain Penin Excellent to Excellent condition! It is a great color example to add to one’s writing arsenal collection.
